CHERAW — Robert (Tonie) Dargan,
51, died Dec. 17, 2010.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Dec. 22 at
Robert was the son of Ethel Lee and the late Roacher Dargan, Jr., born Nov. 17,
1959. He was a member of Charity Community Church of Christ in Cheraw.
Surviving is his mother Ethel Lee Dargan, Brooklyn, NY; son, Derrin Dargan of
Brooklyn, NY; daughters, Idaya Waters of El Paso, TX and Moesha Dargan of
Laurinburg, NC; a grandson, Akil Sanders of El Paso, TX; brothers, Roacher
Dargan, III and Michael Dargan, both of Brooklyn, NY; sisters, Cynthia Dargan
of Buffalo, NY and Pamel Howard of Brooklyn, NY. A host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Dec. 31 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel
with entombment following in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The

Mrs. Wetzler was born July 11, 1938 in Cheraw, a daughter of the late Rosa Lee
Freeman. She was a retired Quality Control Manager with Crown Cork & Seal Company.

Short was born September 19, 1932 in Ruby, SC a son of the late Lester Bart and

Veteran. He was a former member of the Patrick Town Council and was a member of
the Patrick Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed working in the garden, growing
flowers, and helping others.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Donnie
Short; a daughter, Doris Ann McLain; a grandson, Brad Stroud; a great grandson,
Hunter Eason; five brothers, Sam, James, Farris, Gary, and Lee Burt Short; and
by a sister, Allie Hoffman.

married for more than 25 years at the time of his death.
Powe
worked in the restaurant industry as cook and waitress at the Country Kitchen
and the old Baker’s Motel. She also worked as a nanny for several years.
Powe
was a lifelong member of Pee Dee Union Baptist where she was baptized at the
age of 14. She took great pride in serving on the usher board and helping out
with the church’s Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs. Her hobbies included
cooking and working with children.

Ruby, Freeman was a son of the late Atha Louis and Bessie Sutton Freeman. He
was a graduate of Ruby High Class of 1953 and retired from Chesterfield County
Health Department.
Freeman was a former
owner and operator of Redfearn Feed and Seed. Freeman was a member of the Board
of Directors at Lynches River Electric Cooperative for the past 14 years, and
was former member of the Chesterfield County Library Board and was a member of
Chesterfield Masonic Lodge No. 220. He was a lifelong member of White Oak
Presbyterian, where he served as Elder and on various other church committees.
Freeman was an avid outdoors man, and enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, and
buying and selling antique tractors. Most of all, he loved people and helping
others.

Multi – Systems Electrical Contractors of Cheraw. He was a life-time member of
the American Legion, charter member of the Moose Lodge of Cheraw, member of
Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, and the Wild Turkey Federation. In addition
to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Legrand, Johnny, and
Weldon Gulledge; 4 sisters, Ann Crowley Gainey, Pauline Lewis, Naomi Crowley,
and Virginia Smith; and by 1 grandson, Wade Ethan Gulledge.
