Naomi Teal Campbell Research Room
Naomi Ruth Teal was born March 01, 1943, the last of
five children of Henry Dewey Teal and Trollie Irene Russell.
On December 21, 1963 Naomi married Sherman Alexander
"Alex" Campbell and they made their home in Morven, NC.
They were blessed with two daughters, Anita Jean and
Angela "Angie" Renee.

Aside from being a dedicated wife and mother, Naomi
was also an excellent cook. She was a caterer and restaurant owner as well as the Dispatcher for the Morven, N.C.
Police Department. Naomi was also a dedicated member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church in Cheraw, South Carolina.

In the 1980s Naomi began researching her family's roots
and became a member of the
Anson County, NC Genealogical Society. In the latter part of 1997 she helped organize the Chesterfield District Chapter of the South Carolina
Genealogical Society.

In January of 1999, Naomi was diagnosed with colon
cancer and died just six months later on June 04, 1999. She
was buried at Sandy Plains Methodist Church in North
Carolina.

Naomi not only loved and appreciated her Chesterfield
County heritage, but she also firmly believed that she should
do everything possible to preserve Chesterfield County family
and local history. We know that Naomi would love to be here
now to share in the excitement of the Chesterfield Genealogical Research Library.

With this in mind and with the donations of Naomi's compilations on the Teal, Campbell, Lang, Gulledge, Lee,
Burr, Griggs, and Davis families by her daughters, husband,
and sister, the Research Room at the Chesterfield Genealogical Research Library has been named the Naomi Teal Campbell Research Room in her honor. A framed photograph and short biography of Naomi have been placed above the door to the Research Room.
