PFC William P. ROGERS of Cheraw SC (World War II)

Hello Research Library,

Here is a request from Holland.

We are looking for information (newspaper clippings, obituary, photos) on the person described below. Is it possible to track a surviving family member (nephew, niece, cousin, etc).

During World War II in July 1943, US armed forces started Operation Husky, airborne landings in Sicily, Italy. On 11 July 1943, many paratroopers were accidentally killed in friendly fire from the navy.

PFC William P. ROGERS of Cheraw, SC was on of them, killed in the crash of a C-47 transport plane.
