Land Documents




The land grant was made
to Moses Shoemake, Sr.,
by the State of South Carolina
on the 3rd day of April, 1786.
It contained 150 acres and was situated in the District of Cheraw lying near
Indian Creek.

On the right is a survey plat
of a parcel of land containing
150 acres that was certified to
Moses Shoemake, Sr.,
on June 22, 1784.
The land was situated in the District of Cheraw (District Ninty Six) west
of the Old Indian boundry line.

On the Left is a photo
of the survey plat for 250 acres
of land acquired by Moses Shoemake.
The survey was made
on March 6, 1793.
It was situated on Mountain Prong
of Bear Creek in the District of Cheraw, in the county of Chesterfield, SC.

 

 

On the right are documents
setting forth Land Grants
from both England and South Carolina.
These assignments were made to Blackley Shoemake,
son of Samuel Shoemake, Sr., Son of John de la Chaumette

On the right is a copy of the Royal Land Grant for Blackley Shoemake issued
by King George of England.
Done on February 11, 1771.
The grant contained 1,000 acres of land situated in the District of Cheraw
in Chesterfield County.
The survey was issued
on February 22, 1792.

This is a copy
of the State Land Grant for Blackley Shoemake issued
by the State of South Carolina
on March 5, 1792.
This could well be the same parcel of land referred to in the Royal Land Grant made in 1771.
The 1,000 acres was located in the District of Cheraw in Chesterfield County
on Great Black Creek and Great and Little Rattlesnake Branch.
