James W. Jenkins: Mr. J. Arthur Knight was an attorney with an office on Main Street and later on Green Street. He was Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the University of South Carolina at the time of his death.
Katherine Ward Rivers Braswell: After Mrs. Knight's death, the property was left her sisters, Dora and Evelyn. Dora died first and after Evelyn's death, the property was left to Monnie Florence Wiley Bittle. She had looked after the sisters when they became ill. |
