Charles D. Rivers: The Rescue Building shown above was started as a dry cleaner establishment by Bryan and Kimbrel Lisenby, but they never completed the building. The building was acquired by the Rescue Squad and has served the community well. Dr. William Perry: This was the site of the Gaskins Gin Warehouse. I have seen bales of cotton stacked four abreast from this point to the end of Cotton Street, up Church Street, down Main Street back to Mangum Street, and back to the gin. The only break was to allow traffic to pass. I recall that C. J. Eddins' father was a cotton buyer. |
