James W. Jenkins: While there is no 105-A location designation today, there was a house at this site. The first family I can recall who lived here was the Marion and Corrine Kelly Shaw family. They had two daughters, Katherine and Jean, and a son, named Carroll. The Graylon and Bessie Melton Oliver family lived here next. They had three daughters, Margaret, Jean, and Dorothy. Mr. Oliver drove a school bus. They later sold the house to my parents who converted it to the Town House Restaurant. My parents operated the resturant until my father died in 1968 and mother rented the restaurant to Voyd Goodale. Both lots were sold to Ralph Watson after mother moved to 906 West Main Street. The Watson family had owned this property many years earlier. Ralph was planning to open a "Vegetables to Go" take out when he died. The property has come full circle for the second time. A Wendy's is located on the property today (2006) |
