Dr. William Perry: A Mr. White lived here and served as the overseer of the Kennedy Farm. Mr. White's daughter was still living here when I returned home and she told me that her dad had told her of Sherman's troops trying to set the gin on fire. Some of the White family members died from Typhoid fever from water in the well. Mr. Joe Hannah, a rural mail carrier lived here for a number of years. I recall the home having wooden shingles as a siding.
