James W. Jenkins: This small building located on the rear of what was the Dock Watson homesite has served many uses. Dock Watson operated a watch repair business here. Buck Watson operated a cafe here. Billy and Dale Lee operated the Dairy Queen here, and my father, Ulysses Jenkins, operated a meat market here. Jimmy "Sandy" Baker: This photo of the Dariy Center was taken in 1955 or 1956. Billy Lee provides curb service to a waiting customer. The Doc Watson home is visible in the background. |
