Dr. William Perry: Mr. Charlie White had an automobile repair shop at this location.
James W. Jenkins: There was a grain mill located at the left side of this site. The grinding wheel was operated by a gasoline engine and there were wide, long belts that operated all the equipment. When I visited the place, two men were working and they were always covered with meal dust. Charles D. Rivers: The grain mill was operated by Julian Teal. At the right of this present building, Bart Rayfield had a small office that he used for buying cotton. That building was torn down and Ken White operated a Case Tractor place for a number of years. The fire department purchased the property from Franklin Rayfield. |
