Dr. William Perry: The D. A. Brown Home was located where this house now stands. The original Brown Family home was torn down and this house was built here. Hugh and Louise Gaddy lived here and Dr. J. B. Kneece lived here. Dr. Kneece was a pharmacist at Rexall Drugs and he operated a dairy on Highway 9 west of town. He opened a hoisery mill on South Craig Street where Flemming Funeral Home is today. Dr. Kneece died in the vestibule of Chesterfield Baptist Church.

James W. Jenkins: I recall that the Kneece's had two daughters, Audrey and Alice. Alice was the first student I can recall who drove a car to school.
