James W. Jenkins: The C. L. Hunley home was a white frame house located at this site. The house is shown in the top photo. Mr. Hunley was a former Mayor of Chesterfield and Mrs. Hunley taught mathematics at Chesterfield High School until 1953. Mrs. Hunley was a sister to "Miss" Cora and Madge Craig curtis. The Jody and Michelle Stroud family owns a modern house here today (bottom photo). |
