PENSION FILES

Revolutionary War Pensions

The United States Congress passed an Act June 7, 1832, providing for  a pension for those people who had served their country during the Revolutionary War.  These pensions usually provide not only a wealth of genealogical information but are also a useful historical resource.  If you know of any of our Chesterfield County “soldiers of the Revolution” who applied in other states, please let us know, or forward them to us that we may post them here with their comrades.

I have recently added copies of the original archived pension files for those we have been able to locate.  These files can be accessed by clicking the name at the top of the page.

These are a few additional Original Pension Files that have been located that have not been transcribed.
